Europe Day
On May 9, 1950 Robert Schuman presented his proposal for the creation of the organized Europe . The proposal, more known as the "Schuman Declaration" is considered as the beginning of the creation of what is known today as the European Union.
Today, 9 May becomes a European Symbol (Europe Day) which, together with hymn and flag, identifies political entity of the European Union.
Europe Day provides a chance for organization of activities and festivals which make Europe closer to its citizens.
rom its very foundation, European Movement in Serbia, considering its mission related to promotion of European values, celebrates 9 May with series of cultural activities directed to different groups of interests.
