"To Europe from..."

Mission

In the second faze of transition in Serbia more and more raises a need that Serbia and Montenegro becomes a part of European integrations not only in economical, political or social aspect, but in the cultural too. If there's no involvement of Serbia and Montenegro in cultural Europe there will be no true changes and real approach to European standards in any segment of society. That is why Culture Forum has decided to mobilize local councils in a cultural activities. Result of these actions is manifestation "To Europe from...", series of amateur theatre plays with clear European ideas and contents.

Goal

Goal of manifestation "To Europe from", which maintained once a month, is to pay attention on cultural contents in the time when Serbia and Montenegro are going through most sensitive years of transition and so affirms European ideas and strengthen belief that the road to Europe cultural family is issue above politics. Also this manifestation should strengthen European ideas in the places where artists come from.

Manifestation

Realization of the project has started with notification of local councils about manifestation so that they could find appropriate representatives. After a wile meeting of representatives of local counsels and representatives of Culture Forum with president mr.Aleksandar Gatalica took place. At this meeting proposals of the local councils were discussed and the schedule of performers was agreed. On the November 27 th 2003 first play took place and in agreed dynamics, once a month, with small delays, eight theatres plays and choir concerts were held. All plays were excellently visited so that we can consider this project as a success. Furthermore, we can say that we succeeded to mobilize local societies, and Belgrade as well.

Organization

Organization of manifestation which took place in Belgrade Youth Center was entrusted to Culture Forum of European Movement in Serbia and activist of local counsels of the towns which performed at this manifestation.

1. November 27th 2003 . - Children's studio of Cultural centre Zrenjanin with play "Anatomija zeca" (screenplay and directed by Mr.Robert Takarič)
2. December 22nd 2003 . - Cardboard theatre from Cultural centre of Čačak with play "Ondina" (screenplay Žan Žirodu, directed by Mrs. Draga Ćirić-Živanović)
3. January 29 th 2004 . - Theatre of Jagodina High School with play "Tirkizne suze" (screenplay Mr.Vladimir Krstić, directed by Mr.Milić Jovanović)
4. March 3th 2004 . - Women's church choir "Sveti Arhangel Mihajlo" from Jagodina with concert "Pomiluj mja Bože"
5. April 6th 2004 . - Theatre workshop of primary school "Vuk Karadžić" from Čačak with play "Pogledaj dom svoj anđele" (screenplay and directed by Mrs.Zagorka Nikšić)
6. May 4th 2004 . - Youth studio of "Masuka" theatre from Velika Plana with play "Ah te žene" (screnplay A.P. Čehov, directed by Vita Stefanović)
7. Jun 3rd 2004 . - Concert of choir "Lavirint" from Zaječar
8. Jun 21st 2004 . - Sixth Belgrade High with play "Moulin rouge" (directed by Miss.Staša Stanković and Miss.Marina Đuručić)
