The conference "Europe misses my star" (May 9-10, 2000, the offices of the Centre for cultural decontamination, Bircaninova Street 21, Belgrade)

In December 1999, a group of young people, being unsatisfied with the happenings in the environment, came to the idea to establish an organization which would be different by its structure and character from the other existing organizations in this region.

Cooperation of the Generation 21 with youth and students NGOs and progeny of political parties started on May 9, 2000 with youth conference dedicated to the Europe Day " Europe misses my star". After the conference, series of activities, including the structure of partners and associates of the Generation 21 and being organized through the meeting in the Intercontinental Hotel with the diplomatic core of Belgrade , followed. Then, other activities such as regular one-month briefings with the advisor in the European Mission in Belgrade , Mr. Jan Willem Blanket, and, from recently, series of one-month meetings with young representatives of diplomatic missions in Belgrade , ensued.

The all mentioned events were well-visited and accompanied with medias (daily papers and Radio Contact NGO). In September and December 2000, the Generation 21 took the part in the pre-elections campaign. The Generation 21 is, by launching projects within the framework of the initiative "New European Generation", organizing the conference due to the Europe Day, organizing workshops for project writing and series of meetings with the advisor in the EU delegation in Belgrade, organizing meetings with young representatives of embassies in Belgrade, and coordinating youth NGOs dealing with the transformation of the Youth Union, cooperated with a great number of student organizations and youth NGOs as well as with young political parties. In that way, the Generation 21 got an insight in functioning of youth organizations in Belgrade . Their and our perspective is to broaden and advance the cooperation and to include greater number of organizations in our work. The Generation 21 is working on the projects related to education of young people in the fields of ecology, marketing, research journalism, and employed diplomacy.
