Regarding the Elections for the Parliament and Temporary Institutions in Kosovo and Metohija
European Movement in Serbia has always supported the citizens of Serbia to use their voting rights, in order to influence and protect their rights and interests as well as actively support building of democratic institutions.
Therefore the European Movement in Serbia considers the turn out of Serbian population at the elections in Kosovo and Metohija as their entail right, chance for active and constrictive participation in the forthcoming negations on the status of Province.
We believe that participation of Serbian and other non-Albanian population at the elections would obligate the Albanian representatives in temporary institutions and representatives of international community to guarantee the protection of their basic human and civil rights. That includes the participation in resolving the future status of Kosovo and Metohija according to European standards and values , as well as UN Charter and other relevant resolutions.
We invite EU to fully engage in the implementation of Thessaloniki Declaration because speeding up the European integration of the Balkans is the only solution for the problem of Kosovo and Metohija.
