Ljubljana Agenda
for new phase of the Stabilization and Association Process
The European Movement in Serbia and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, office in Belgrade organized international conference: Ljubljana Agenda for the New Phase of Stabilization and Association Process. The Conference took place in Belgrade on 30-31 May 2008.
The major purpose of the Conference was to finalize the preparation of the platform for Slovenian presidency that would enable the EU to offer a clear path to the region on it´s way to the EU as well as concrete supportive measures in order to consolidate the results achieved until now.
The Conference gathered international and regional officials, political representatives and experts in order to debate with NGO representatives about the EU reform treaty, readiness of the Western Balkan countries to join the EU, regional cooperation and EU integration as well as recognition of civil society as a relevant partner in EU integration process. Concrete result of the Conference was a draft of the final proposal of the Ljubljana agenda that is distributed to policy and opinion makers in Europe and the region.
