INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
“LJUBLJANA AGENDA FOR THE NEW PHASE OF STABILIZATION AND ASSOCIATION PROCESS”
Regional network of NGOs and think-tank organizations, now gathered in the Coalition for regional cooperation and European Integration – Coalition REI, is working together since 2006, acting as “the voice of the region” and with the purpose of enhancing the regional cooperation and EU integration process. The regional network was gathered initially around the project “Regional co-operation for development and European integration”, realized in 2006 and 2007.
This CD presents the result of the International Conference “Ljubljana Agenda for the New Phase of Stabilization and Association Process” organized by the European Movement in Serbia and Friedrich Ebert Foundation office in Belgrade, held on 30-31 May 2008 in Belgrade, gathering international and regional officials, political representatives, experts and NGO representatives. The Conference is part of the wider project initiated by the Coalition in December 2007 with the support of Balkan Trust for Democracy and Open Society Fund. Within the project several very successful conferences were held in the region and some of them are presented here. The final outcome is agreed “Proposal for the New Phase of Stabilization and Association Process”. Although the initiative was inspired by the Slovenian EU Presidency and thus named “Ljubljana Agenda”, this final outcome transcends the framework and period of six-month Slovenian Presidency and is the result of genuine regional civil society cooperation.
