On Saturday, September 4th, the 11th generation of mentors will continue their work on the mentoring program “Share Your Knowledge”, this time in the form of a study visit to the Women’s Center of Uzice.
As part of the study visit to the Women’s Center Uzice, participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with a local initiative that has achieved long-term success in the field of promoting gender equality, advocating for women’s rights, supporting rural women’s associations and social entrepreneurship.
The participants will be hosted by Marina Tucovic, manager of the textile collection and recycling program & president of the assembly of the Women’s Center of Uzice, with whom we’ve had the opportunity to socialize during the first roundtable of the the 2020/2021 program “Gender Equality and Sustainable Development”.
The study visit will be an opportunity to visit the premises of the Women’s Center of Uzice and hear the story of one of the most awarded women’s initiatives in the field of gender equality.
After the visit, an informal conversation will be organized with the members of the Women’s Center of Uzice on all issues related to the ways of acting, organizing and working within the center.
In 2020 the Association Coalition for Solidarity Economy Development initiated the production of a short film about the Uzice Women’s Center’s commitment to women’s empowerment through a textile collection and recycling program. After a short break, the participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the charms of one of the most valuable natural resources of Serbia – The Potpec Cave, as part of an organized tourist tour.
