A Consultative meeting on the development of social entrepreneurship will be held on Wednesday, October 19th at 12:00 p.m., in the premises of the Center for Monitoring and Activism in Čačak.
Social entrepreneurship is a multi sectoral topic that can ensure the long-term solution for a number of social problems in local communities. The consultative meeting is organized with the aim of exchanging information on the necessary measures to support the development of social entrepreneurship in local communities. The Law on Social Entrepreneurship was adopted at the beginning of 2022 after a decade of intensive work with decision makers. However, the existence of the law does not guarantee its implementation, and the improvement of the working environment for social enterprises and the improvement of the position of their users. It is important to link the real needs of social enterprises, organizations and local communities with policy instruments and measures that can support ecosystem development in local conditions.
“Also, it is extremely important to involve citizens in this process and take into account the needs of local communities. That is why, on behalf of the European movement, we invite you to a public consultative meeting where we want to hear your opinion on the potential for the action and cooperation of all local actors in the process of implementing the Law on Social Entrepreneurship and the Program for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship in the city of Čačak”.
The invitation to participate in the consultative meeting was sent to social enterprises, civil society organizations, representatives of local authorities, citizens and other stakeholders in Čačak and the surrounding local communities.
Consultative meeting – Development of social entrepreneurship in Čačak is organized by the Center for Monitoring and Activism as part of the partnership with the European Movement in Serbia on the project “Strengthening the ecosystem of social entrepreneurship” led by the Coalition for Solidarity Economy Development. The project is implemented within the framework of the ACT project, which is implemented in partnership by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and Civic Initiatives, and which is financed by the funds of the Swiss Government.
