The Friedrich Ebert Foundation and Socio-economic Forum of the European Movement in Serbia are organizing the international conference “Education Policies and Labour market in the Western Balkans“, that will be held on April 9, 2019,  at Envoy Conference Center, Gospodar Jevremova 47, Belgrade.

The Conference will address important issues of social and economic reforms and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. Having in mind the expected signing of the Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications in the Western Balkans, as well as persistent work of the Social Policy Group set up within the London School of Economics Research on South East Europe, their presentation will provide a better insight into the important policy developments in the region – education and labour market – and learn where is the place of Serbia in getting closer to the EU in these domains.

The Socio-economic Forum of the European Movement in Serbia aims to contribute in reaching awareness and national consensus on the difficult issues of social and economic reforms and development. The expected outcome of necessary reforms in education and labour market development would also be helpful in reaching economic and social standards of the European Union and prepare Serbia and the region for the membership. Speakers from the region and Europe are invited to give introductory presentations that will open ground for a range of participants from different backgrounds (policy makers, civil society, academia, and media) to contribute to the structured debate.
