The Vital Voices organization in partnership with the members of its Global Leadership Network, coordinates Mentoring Walks in several countries around the world. All these Walks take place on the same day with the idea for mentors to communicate their knowledge and experience to younger colleagues. Since the establishment of the Global Women’s Mentoring Walk in 2008 this initiative has gathered thousands of women leaders on all continents.
Mentoring Walks illustrate the commitment of women to global leadership development and highlight the achievements of women around the world. This year 175 Mentoring Walks will take place in over 62 countries.
In Serbia, the first Mentoring walk was organized on November 15, 2008 in Belgrade and Niš, and brought together more than fifteen successful women from the fields of business, public life, NGOs, as well as a student, future women leaders, in order to exchange knowledge, skills and experience. Mentoring Walk in Serbia was initiated by three ladies Andrea Brbaklić, Marija Nikolic and Ana Firtel, who was participant in the program Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership, which is jointly implemented by Fortune magazine and the US State Department, in cooperation with the NGO Vital Voices.
Project “Share Your Knowledge” is organized by The European Movement in Serbia for the ninth year in a row, implemented in cooperation and collaboration in and with the support of the Embassy of the United States, Erste Bank and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The program aims to bring together professional women leaders from different professions to share their knowledge and experience with young women starting their careers with similar interests and a desire to be successful in their fields. This will contribute to creating an opportunity for these women to improve their career path with the intention to achieve a positive shift in professional and personal terms, as well as to set a sound basis for future long-term cooperation.
The Women’s Academy of Leadership brings together politicians and activists and offers them the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills, but also to connect in order to fight together and advocate women’s human rights to achieve full equality. As the civil society organization with the same name, it emerged as a natural continuation of the program of support to active women in public life launched in 2011. Founded by Center for Support of Women, Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence and Center for Modern Skills.
