“KulTOURiška in Belgrade”, the final event of the projects “United by diversity” and “I deserve to know – multiculturalism to a stronger democracy” was held on April 11th and 12th in Belgrade. The event brought together over 120 students, representatives of high schools and the civil sector, who spent time socializing and learning while touring the cultural heritage and contemporary cultural features of Belgrade.
On the first day of the event, students had the opportunity to get to know each other and visit various historical and cultural sites in Belgrade by participating in an interactive walking tour.
On the second day of the “KulTOURiška” in Belgrade, results and concrete tools useful for learning about interculturalism were presented. The premiere of the film “It’s cool to be KulTOURiška!” was presented, depicting exchanges of high school students across Serbia and their interaction with different cultures. After the film, the students played the board game “KulTOURiška” through which they had the opportunity to learn more about different cultures, customs, religions, languages, geographical concepts and the history of Serbia. During the day, the participants exchanged opinions about what they learned during the project and gave suggestions on improving and continuing the project. In the final part of this two-day event, the participants were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The project “United by Diversity” was implemented jointly by the European Movement in Serbia, Local Democracy Agency LDA Subotica, EPuS – Leskovac, Forum Civilne Akcije – FORCA and Timočki Club. The project is supported by the European Union.
The project “I deserve to know – multiculturalism to a stronger democracy” was jointly implemented by the European Movement in Serbia and the Beta Media Center. The work of the European Movement in Serbia and the Beta Media Center was supported by Sweden within the Belgrade Open School program “Youth and Media for Democratic Development”.
