Applications are now open for the 14th generation of mentors as part of the “Share Your Knowledge” program, jointly implemented by the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the European Movement in Serbia.

We invite young women (and women who are young at heart!) with a minimum of six months of relevant professional engagement (volunteering, internships, employment, etc.) from the Republic of Serbia to apply. The program particularly welcomes young women entrepreneurs in agriculture and Romani women.

The “Share Your Knowledge” program is a unique initiative that opens up opportunities for the personal and professional development of women. It is based on the concept of mentorship and focuses on building mutual support among women through sharing knowledge, experiences, strengthening solidarity, promoting role models, networking, and empowering women. Over the past 13 years, the program has successfully adapted to the needs of women’s professional and personal development, providing support to the female community in challenging times.

The implementation of the first phase of regionalization in Bosnia and Herzegovina has opened new perspectives for connecting women at the national, regional, and European levels, creating new opportunities and forms of collaboration based on mentorship.

The goal of the “Share Your Knowledge” program is to professionally and personally empower women in our society through the exchange of experiences and knowledge. It is guided by the idea that successful and professional women, leaders from various fields, share their knowledge and experiences with young women of similar interests, contributing to the creation of opportunities for young women to advance their career paths, with the intention of achieving a positive impact and establishing a solid foundation for future long-term collaboration.

The activities within the Program, which runs until September 2025, are as follows:

  • One-on-One Mentorship – Each mentee receives a mentor at the beginning of the cycle, with whom they work continuously for 10 months on personal and professional empowerment, following a pace they mutually agree upon.
  • Group Activities – Roundtables, workshops, and study visits bring together mentees, mentors, and other women who support the Program. Workshops are designed to develop and strengthen the skills of the mentees. Roundtables provide opportunities for discussions with women from various professions, who share their experiences and stories about the challenges women face in different professional fields. Study visits are intended to familiarize mentors and mentees with women-led initiatives that exemplify best practices in areas such as activism and entrepreneurship, while also offering opportunities for shared travel and socializing.
  • Mentoring Walks – Special joint activities aimed at promoting women’s solidarity, the fight for women’s rights, and collaboration among women through mentorship. The first Mentoring Walk takes place in March (each time in a different city) in honor of International Women’s Day, while the second is part of the closing event in Belgrade. Mentoring Walks are part of the global Vital Voices Global Leadership Network initiative, which organizes a series of mentoring walks on the same day in various countries around the world each year.
  • “Share Your Knowledge” Podcasts – These are a key component in enhancing the visibility of collaboration and solidarity that form the foundation of the Program. In the podcasts, alumni and participants share their professional and personal stories, inspiring further development and support within the women’s community.

Applications are currently open for mentees, with a deadline of November 30 at 23:59. To apply, you can fill out the Application Form.

Candidates go through two selection phases:

  • First Phase: Review of online applications (forms), which includes meeting the program requirements and clarity of motivation for participation. All candidates will be notified of the results by mid-December.
  • Second Phase: For candidates who pass the first selection phase, online interviews will be organized in the second half of December. This phase includes the selection criterion of clarity regarding the goals of participation and the contributions the Program can provide.

Mentors are selected based on the profiles of the chosen candidates (professional affinities and personal interests). The call for mentors is open year-round. Mentors can apply by sending their CV and a cover letter to ivana.ristivojevic@emins.org throughout the year, thus becoming part of the mentor database and being contacted during the mentee selection process based on the mentees’ choices before the official start of the program.
