The European Movement in Serbia, in cooperation with the EU Info Center, is organizing the first online debate in the EU Talks 2.0 series, entitled The EU closer to the citizens – What is the EU for you? on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020, via the Zoom platform, from 11am to 12:30 pm.

It is clear that neither the Western Balkans, nor the institutions of the European Union and the member states have made sufficient efforts to increase knowledge about each other, to improve mutual perception and to adopt European values, norms, policies and standards for the benefit of citizens and the enlargement process.

In addition to the government’s communication strategies in the candidate countries, which are necessary, there is still a lot of work to be done by civil society organizations, experts and especially the media.

Debates, explanations and answers to questions, in addition to accurate and concrete information on European policies, priorities, institutions and sectors of the EU, are key to a better understanding of the main tasks facing our societies on the path to membership.

That is why the European Movement in Serbia, with the support of the EU Info Center, is launching a series of online debates on EU Talks 2.0, in order to strengthen valuable communication with citizens and help them assess and make their own judgment about Serbia’s European perspective.

Participats:

  • Aleksandra Bosnic-Djuric, Center for Intercultural Communication, Novi Sad
  • Natasa Dragojlovic, Coordinator, National Convention on the European Union
  • Dusko Radosavljevic, Faculty of Law Lazar Vrkatic, Novi Sad
